A NOTE FROM THE CHOREOGRAPHER

Working on The Addams Family at Woodford Theatre was a wickedly delightful experience. As a choreographer, I was excited to honor the show's traditional musical theatre roots while also exploring how the eccentric world of the Addams family could be expanded through movement. We blended classic styles with contemporary and hip hop influences to give the characters — both living and... less-than-living — a fresh physical vocabulary that matched their wildly unique personalities. It was a joy to create a movement language that allowed this cast to lean into the humor, heart, and haunting charm that make this show so beloved.
